This month, one of my personal heroes, Paul Meier, invited me to have a conversation about audiobooks for his new podcast, In a Manner of Speaking. You’ll recognize Paul as the gentleman and scholar-founder of the International Dialects of English Archive (used by every self-respecting audiobook narrator and actor…on the planet). Not only was that an honor, but he invited the magnificent Julia Whelan to the interview, which made the interview even more of a pleasure, because Julia is also one of my heroes. She’s not only ferociously smart and talented, she’s kind, generous, funny, unflinching, swears like a sailor, and cherishes language. So there really aren’t too many more exceptional people with whom a girl could spend an hour.
What’s the most helpful or relevant part of the conversation as it relates to your work as an audiobook narrator? Let me know in the comments below! And happy listening!
