Married Sex

Contemporary Fiction, Multi-Cast Production

Narrators Tavia Gilbert and May Wuthrich offer rich performances of journalist Jesse Kornbluth’s debut novel–which is smart, sexy, and funny. David, a Manhattan divorce lawyer, has been happily married to Blair, a dean at Barnard College, for 20 years. David feels superior, self-satisfied with his life with Blair, in spite of–or because of–the horror stories he hears about his clients’ imploding marriages. When Jean, a famous photographer, propositions him, David, always up for sex, invites her home for a ménage à trois. The marital complications are inevitable, amusing, and steamy. Gilbert’s and Wuthrich’s characterizations sound authentic and believable as Blair and Jean. Kornbluth writes great dialogue, but his narration as David isn’t as exciting as the audiobook deserves. A titillating look at love and loving, married style. AudioFile Magazine
